First and foremost, I am here to help.
Who? Well, you. If you need help, I will do what I can to be helpful.
If you are an early-stage brand or small business (i.e. under $40M/yr), chances are I can be really helpful.
How? I am a brand founder too. Technically speaking, I've had two exits from businesses I co-founded. The most recent was a consumer brand called BottleKeeper, which my cousin Matt and I built from zero to $8M in sales in just three years with no employees, investors, or debt.
BottleKeeper grew to generate tens of millions in revenue, before we ended up on Shark Tank in 2018 (season 10, episode 6), and was ultimately acquired by private equity group Wind Point Partners and RTIC Outdoors in an 8-figure transaction with just four employees (and still no investors).
To be clear, the last 2 paragraphs are after-the-fact soundbites that look and sound great but don’t remotely tell the true tale of how unbelievably difficult it was from start to finish. It’s really important to speak honestly about how hard being a founder can be and that, most of the time, we were breaking sh*t, making mistakes, and hanging on by a thread.
But we learned something important at every step and, in the end, made a few more good decisions than bad.
The BottleKeeper experience spanned eight years and resulted in my deep understanding of how to successfully operate every single position inside a consumer brand – because I operated every single position inside of BottleKeeper for the first three years to $8M in revenue.
That includes paid and social media, finance and operations, branding, creative, web development, copywriting, product development, international manufacturing, patent strategy and legal (we had over 40 patents when BottleKeeper was acquired), customer service, shipping and fulfillment and quite literally any other position you can think of.
Because I have a deep understanding of customer acquisition and operational finance, as well as all the math that ties them together, I can be really helpful now by showing you exactly how to get your business to profitability and beyond -- this is exactly why we created Pentane, as well as this Podcast.
